To apply for a bursary, you must:

• Bursaries shall be awarded by the South Burnaby Metro Club to any successful candidate who, for three or more years, has played on a team within the club.
• Bursaries shall be awarded to Students proceeding from Grade 12 to any university in the Province or other post-secondary institution approved by the Bursary Committee.
• Candidates must complete the application in full (attach additional sheet, if necessary) and provide all required information, documents and letters in order for their application to be considered.
• The information requested on the application indicates the criteria to be considered by the Bursary Committee.
• Bursaries are conditional, in that the funds will be withheld until such time as the recipient provides proof that he/she is attending a post secondary institution approved by the Bursary Committee.
• A candidate must have a minimum C+ average in his/her marks.
• A candidate must have demonstrated good citizenship, character and leadership (school and/or Club involvement.)

The following must accompany the application:

1. A transcript of the student’s marks or a photocopy of the Permanent Record card.
2. If neither is available, a typed copy of the Permanent Record Card verified by a school official signature will be accepted. Current Christmas and Easter marks should be attached if available.
3. Letter from a club or team official or community leader, indicating the candidate’s character, leadership examples, participation in community activities, as well as information regarding the candidate’s sports abilities or other team involvement.
